Flavio Bandiera

Flavio Bandiera was born in 1970. From his first childhood memories his life has been surrounded by photography thanks to his father Stefano who is an affirmed landscape and advertising photographer. Flavio is a lover of art, literature and music, after his studies he begins his professional career by working as an assistant in various photographic environments: portraits, still-life and advertising.

His approach to wedding photography comes about almost by chance in the mid 90's and this becomes his passion, seeking a more realistic and immediate approach complied to that offered by fashion and costume, he finds in this art the perfect mixture between stylistic rigour and expressive spontaneity. In successive years he works with passion with the conviction of the value of the documental and artistic value of his shots making this become his career.

A declared elegance, a descriptive language full of details, an intimacy in which it is possible to identify oneself in another dimension. His inspirations sum up to minimalistic and conceptual ideas that collect the spirits of those wishing to escape from common and stereotype situations.

His shots don't allow easiness nor simplicity. On the contrary Flavio Bandiera's style is refined, almost intransigent, spontaneous but emotional at the same time, in which light, shape and colour express the interior elegance to all those who have decided to entrust Flavio to document their most important day.

"After a lot of years of research I believe to have found a dimension in which I'm represented. If I was asked to describe my style I would define it as fusion because it melds beauty and emotion together in order to create three distinctive photographic forms: spontaneous, contemporary and classic."  

Flavio is founder of the exclusive Best of Wedding Photography, which counts on the best wedding photographers in the world, and ANFM the first National Association for Wedding Photographers in Italy. He's also member of the most prestigious international associations of wedding photographs like WPJA, [AG]WPJA, SWPP, WPPI and since 2010 he is national responsible for italian professional photographers who work in the field of weddings within FIOF (International Fund of Orvieto Photography).

For his contribution in the world of wedding photography he has received numerous awards. Among these can be mentioned his most recent achievements Gold Prizes 2008 and 2009 released by Tau Visual, QIP Wedding 2008 and Photographer of the Year 2009 by FIOF, QEP Wedding 2009 by FEP, Gold Award by SWPP.

At present he is collaborating with the most important magazines regarding this sector in Italy.
