Professional photographer since 1980, Gian Cerato works mainly with weddings and portraits, with several experiences in advertising and architecture, fields where he constantly tries to reach maximum expressivity and spontaneity, with a strong focus on feelings.
From 1990 he regularly teaches professional photography in several workshops all over the world. He took part for many years to "Kodak Professional Portrait Day", a special event organized in different cities in Italy.
In 1999 he conducted a Kodak workshop in Athens and in 2003 he was appointed by Valencia AFPV to teach in two different "wedding Professional Photography" workshops in Monasterio de Aguas Vivas and San Sebastian.
He won two Kodak Awards for Group Portrait and Wedding Photography.
In 1997, with other 3 collegues, he founded SMIA group (Sistema Modulare integrato di Aggiornamento).
SMIA group organizes professional photography workshops, with focus on photograpy technics, album editing, art history and marketing and communication.
In 2003 he completely joined the digital Era.
In 2005 he starts an exciting experience in sport photography, in A1 series for male volleyball as official photographer of BreBanca Lannutti Cuneo Team.
With Album Epoca he's focusing a very important subject for modern weding photographers: Album Editing, a subject that he constantly studies and research about since one of the most useful tool for a photographer to present his works.
He considers the wedding photographer work as made of two eaqully important sides: researching expressions and album editing, the actual channel for the photografic story, the amplify the emotiional impact trough the graphic creativity.
